NZ legislation places health and safety duties on ‘persons conducting a business or undertaking’ (PCBU). ‘PCBU’ is a broad term that covers many ways of doing business including in the not-for-profit sector. A PCBU can be a business entity such as a company (legal person), or a natural person. A natural person might be a PCBU if they are a sole trader, partner or a self-employed person.
Whether you are trading as a company or a partnership or an individual, as a SelectCleaning Franchisee you are considered to be a PCBU.
It is Select's intention to try to ensure you understand your responsibilities.
